The Contest

The Hear Me Out Song & Poetry Contest invites artists of all ages to share original work inspired by healing, identity, resilience, and belonging. Whether it’s a song, spoken word piece, or poem, we want to hear your story. Selected performers will be featured on stage at the 2026 Hear Me Out Festival and receive a small honorarium in gratitude for their courage and creativity.

We are looking for original poetry and songs that speaks to mental health. This is your chance to share your voice on stage, connect with the community, and be part of a powerful night of creativity and care.

      • For young performers: Share a song or poem about what helps you when you feel worried or sad, who supports you on hard days, or what brings you joy. Every voice matters–no matter how big or small.
      • For singer/songwriters: Your original piece can be performed with the accompaniment of an instrument you play, or a cappella.

Please click the button below and fill out the contest form. It is free to enter. The deadline to submit your original poem or song is December 31, 2025

If you have any questions, please email Jess Rios at hello@hearmeoutfestival.com

You’ll be contacted some time in January 2026 to let you know if you have won (please check your spam folder).
